Black people with disabilities are more likely to become homeless, be assaulted, unemployed, imprisoned. Black disabled people who face classism, sexism, homophobia, and transphobia must deal with even more obstacles.
So on Tuesday February 24th at 6 pm at Westlake Park (400 Pine St), we will protest to show that Black Disabled Lives Matter.
This action is metro accessible from the light rail train or from bus stops at 3rd and Pine and 4th and Pine. This will be an outdoor event that will require moving for moderate distances.
If you cannot come out to the protest in person you can still participate by following the twitter hashtag #UASRseattle to stay informed about the protest and to retweet events from the protest.
Please Bring:
-Warm clothing
-Food and water
-A protest buddy
-Your personal struggle with being disabled and black
