We are open to any and all people to join our organization. People who are black womxn, trans*, homeless, disabled, queer, sex workers, and other groups who are usually cast out of mainstream organizing are the people we really feel need to be at the forefront of anti-racist organizing. That is why we are constantly making efforts to reach these groups, and our membership partially represents these groups as well.
There are three two ways you can become a part of United Against Systemic Racism:
-Become a paid organizer
-Join the Support Team

Become An Organizer
We are now working to make sure we can have three paid organizers for our organization by this fall. Two organizers have already joined. You will be paid $15.00/hr (unlike the current minimum wage in Seattle right now) and you will work 2 hours a week every week. It's for low income youth of color who may be too busy with school or work to organize full time. You will be paid immediately after each day that you work.
If you are interested, you must be:
- Black
-Trans* woman of color or a trans* femme person.
-Between the ages of 16 and 24
-Low income or homeless
-Live in King County or Snohomish County
No previous experience or resumés are needed. These positions will not be paid with money from any government agency, corporation or non profit, but from local money from small businesses and individuals.
People of color especially black people are strongly encouraged to join. Our organization is open to people who are queer, trans* and/or are not able-bodied or able-minded. If you wish to learn more or join please email us at [email protected].
